Earlier this month, I had the chance to lead three workshops at the Heart of America Christian Writers’ Network (HACWN) Christian writers conference in Overland Park, a suburb of Kansas City, MO. This was my seventh conference in 2013, going from North Carolina to Maui, HI and in between. My next conference is Writing for the Soul, Feb. 13-26 at the very nice Broadmoor Inn in Colorado Springs, CO.
Charlotte Adelsperger and I go back more than 30 years when I acquired her book on When Your Child Hurts. Charlotte and her husband Bob have been my overnight hosts for the past three HACWN conferences. Charlotte is a huge Jan Karon fan, like my wife Rita.
